In fairness, Ronaldo has to play with some bang average players with Portugal: Soares; Renato Sanches; Eder etc.

Joao Moutinho is an okay player but not remotely someone a top class Intl outfit would depend on in midfield.

Past it players like Ricardo Quaresma, Bruno Alves and Manuel Fernandes still pad out their squads.
