What a conflict of interest! Marzulli wrote on crime and indictments bought by the District Attorney, covered their arrests and indictments, reported on their trials, and then gets handed a job by them.

Seems to be all the rage these days, as NY times reporter was just "reprimanded" by the paper for sleeping around with FBI agents in exchange for classified info.

100% agree pmac. He has held the acting boss slot at least twice in the past and been a loyal Carmine Persico cousin since the 1970s. Carmine (whose his first cousin) could order Mush to fly over and give him a blowjob and Much would do it no questions asked. Mush also has a son who is a powerful capo, which is more incentive to stay involved. Lastly, if prior evidence is anything to go on, whoever is acting boss is holding the seat for Teddy Persico Jr., as was the case in both 2005 and 2008. It makes sense it would be a guy like Mush and not some young, ambitious capo.
Also, don’t think that Mush’s last sentence would deter him. He served less than a year in MCC lockup before a judge gave him what amounted to time served.
Mush was also taped in the late 2000s or 2010 saying words to the effect of “I can never quit”.

Yep, Mush seemed like a violent guy. Talked about bringing guys back into the fold otherwise they were enemies of the family. Retaliatory stabbings, etc. I bet if Paulie Guns hadn’t dropped dead before the trial date then Mush would have done a lot worse in terms of plea deals.
