As part of the sentence, Giallanzo was also forced to forfeit $1.25 million and sell the Howard Beach mansion he built with his ill-gotten gains. He also owes $268,000 in restitution to five loansharking victims.
The sprawling home is still on the market, Macedonio told reporters, saying the proceeds from the home would cover restitution in addition to forfeiture. What's his day job? How do these people prove their income? This guy, God knows what he actually does for a living, is living in a mansion? What the fuck, like? Yes, he has money squirreled away, I get this, but it can't be as simple as doing that, CAN IT?
These guys are beyond help. They're grown men. We're talking about people who are in their 40's, 50's and 60's and whose daughters have been put through school and had luxurious sweet 16's, weddings and christenings with the proceeds of other people's blood, tears and misery. Your posts reek of such disgusting jealousy I'm amazed you haven't jumped off a cliff already.

@zero This is certainly not Ronnie G’s first stretch in prison, he’s been in and out of prison for most of this century. The charges in his indictment allege that he effectively ran his loansharking ring from behind bars. That puts a different light on it, thank you. Do you know what his prior convictions were for? Extortion relating to a Colombo family stock fraud in 2006. He was imprisoned from 2006-2013. Then he was arrested in 2016 for violating parole. The following year came his enormous loansharking bust, which alleged that he ran a lot of it behind bars.

Did he do both and own the fence company? If he had all 3 going he was foolish to stay involved. Thanks for his arrest record, can you please tell me if ay of those were felony convictions, if you know?

But what you have to understand is that most wiseguys have some sort of legitimate business they own to give themselves an air of authenticity. You can’t throw your hands up in the air and say “if they’ve got such a great fence company, why are they involved in organised crime?†Because organised.crime comes first. Organised crime pays for the legitimate businesses. Organised crime is their full time job. During the 1990s, Vincent Asaro ran an enormous car theft ring that netted him millions of dollars. Mechanics would place orders to Vinny for various cars because they needed parts, and Vinny would send out squads to jack the cars. All of this came while he was running his fence company.

14 years is insane and a crazy amount of forfeiture. Was he offered a plea here at all before it went to jury?
He did plea. He didn't go to trial. The worst I’ve see was the Colombo guy who beat the murder rap but the judge thought he done it and gave him 50 years! It didn’t help that he said he would do 20 years standing on his head. There should be limits as that’s a joke. If the government can’t prove a case beyond reasonable doubt it’s wrong that the judge can just give any sentence they feel to. That’s not democratic justice.
Dino Saracino is who you're talking about.
