Yanks fire Larry Rothschild as pitching coach. If they were going to do it, wish they would have done it sooner to go after Mickey Callaway who's now with the Angels as their pitching coach. That surprised me because I thought Rothschild was great. I felt that their hitting coach Thames should have been fired. I like him too but I think we need to get someone who stresses less strikeouts to our lineup as you said.

He's currently with the Pirates but with them cleaning house, perhaps they'll completely restock their team? If so and I'm the Yanks, I'd jump on him. He's done wonders with some of Pittsburgh pitchers.

Strasburg I think will opt out but resign with DC. As I've said, I believe Cole will be outside of the Yankees price range. I actually brought up Bumgarner yesterday to someone I was talking to about this. I only fear that there's a lot of miles on his arm already. But a proven, 3-time World Series pitcher (and a lefty as well). Great big game pitcher. I don’t think he will make a splash as a free agent acquisition like cole or Strasburg though. Not as much money as Cole and Strasburg will command but he'll still get paid. Yanks are keeping Champman. Just like with CC, they're tacking on an extra year at $18 million (he already had 2 years at $30 million, so now it's a 3-year deal worth $48 million). I say that was a good move. Like to see them resign Betances now, as long as they don't go more than 3 years with him.

I'm not surprised the Yanks issued him one and that he declined. Honestly, from what I've been reading online, I'm not sure the Yankees will bring him back. They may move Torres over to shortstop and have LaMeheiu at second and put their money into pitching. I'd like to see Didi back but I wouldn't be surprised if the Yankees don't make him a strong offer. I am in the same boat. Pitching is the concern. Another contact hitter should be high on the offseason list too. Exactly. Would love another LaMaheiu but I know that's pushing it. But yes, we need someone to make contact and advance baserunners.

This is a huge scandal and they should be punished harshly for it. Agreed. After the Red Sox/Yankees fines from earlier, Manfred said going forward, those caught engaging in using technology to cheat will receive harsh penalties. I want to see more than just a lost draft pick and a fine. Let's hope Manfred is a man of his word but from the evidence I've seen so far, going back as early as 2017 and even continuing this year, it doesn't look good for Houston. I think he will have to make make an example out of them.

I would love to see the yanks make some moves this offseason. Me too but I honestly don't think they'll get Cole (too pricey) and I think Strasburg is staying put in DC. I could see them maybe get someone like Wheeler because I think Bumgardner is going to Atlanta. Although, Cole Hamels says he might just do one year deals going forward so I'd love to see the Yankees get him on a 1-year deal for sure!

In other news, Orlando Magic co-founder Pat Williams announced his intentions to spearhead an Orlando-area MLB franchise Orlando DreamersInteresting. Florida can barely support the 2 teams that are there now.
