Frank Robinson, baseball player extraordinaire, died today at age 83. He was one of the best ballplayers I ever saw and the ONLY one to win the MVP award in both leagues. He was also the first black manager in the Bigs.

Damn I didn't realize Albert Finney died until I saw it here. And I agree he was great in Millers Crossing. That movie has a lot of great one-liners and Leo has his share of them...

Ah, not so fast! Baseball great Don Newcombe has died at age 92. Since SC was the only one who picked him, the two of you are tied.

Also wrestling great Pedro Morales recently passed away from complications of Parkinson's Disease. I don't believe anyone had him on their list.

"Newk" was one of the central great figures of the Brooklyn Dodgers in the 1950s. A great pitcher and all-around classy guy he was one of my favorites.

Peter Tork, singer and bass player from the '60s group The Monkees, has died at age 77. No cause of death was given, but Tork had battled oral cancer since 2009.
