Great points, especially with the borders being all but shut down. The flow of narcotics and other contraband must be affected, has the price of anything, drugs, women, etc. gone up.
Making an assumption, like any market in a scenario like this, price gauging is a possibility.
In Sicily, women are more dangerous than the shotgun.

Great article, police is not arresting people no more so they can make a killing If that was what you took away from reading this article reading comprehension is definitely not your strong suit.

I think that its the same also for the street gangs that can selling dope on every corners like first covid19. I have a feeling the street gangs won't do so well, alot of them use drugs also. It'll be interesting to see how the underground landscape changes when this is over.

Agree strax. The smart bosses know there is not going to be enough cash coming in right now, so they will tell their family to either not have them kick up for awhile or only kick up a faction of what they are supposed to kick up and save as much money as they can, the ones who are greatly effective by the virus anyway, while those are unaffected will still be kicking up. Once the stay at home order is lifted, the boss will order his family to push money onto the streets, cause their is going to be a lot of people who needs money and the legal means is not going to be enough. The Government stimulus is not going to last long, but it will help some of the people to avoid the clutches of the mafia. This is not just related to the Italians, but the other OC groups too. Street gangs? They are going to be hit harder, as narcotics is usually their main bread and butter, but I would not be surprised if their membership doubles or triples after this is over.

prostitution (but the mafia is not involved in this) Another myth, mafiosi have ever been involved in exploiting prostitution. i've never heard this at least in italy, maybe somebody in the united states... Yeah, prostitution doesn't have a high priority, it's a grey zone like the strip joints in the US or red lights districts.

I don't see why they couldn't be taxing pimps the way they tax other people making their money illegally.

Some street gangs might be hit harder than others. There's multiple ways to keep the trafficking active and other activities their involved that isn't reliant on narcotics.
