I've seen only a few episodes of Idol, but I watched last night's and the night before. Anyway, here's my two cents, even though I'm not totally rooting for anyone yet.
I think I'm the only one here (or anywhere) who love, love, LOVED Constantine's rendition of "I Think I Love You." Even though the judges said that it was too theatrical, I think that was the point! It was a nice change from the rest of these people, who take themselves WAY too seriously for their own good. I loved the performance, because not only did he pick a fun song anyway, but you could tell he was having extra fun singing it. He's got a great stage presence, that guy.
I'd love to know why you guys don't like him, by the way.
Bo sounded good, too... I can't take his name seriously (and I can't say it without a major hick accent ), and I don't like his hair or his goatee (or his clothes, for that matter), but oh well. He has a good voice. He indeed sounded very 70's.
Reese Witherspoon (oops, I mean Carrie), Jessica, and that gorgeous black girl in the pink shirt (damned if I remember her name) were all really good, too. "Total Eclipse of the Heart" is like one of the best shower songs ever. And ever since Bandits came out, the song always reminds me of that movie (in a good way).
Mikalah gets on my VERY last nerve, and I can't see why she's even made it this far. And why does she talk like a circa-1968 Barbra Streisand? It's annoying. That was only cute on Barbra, and barely, at that.
Anyway, I've gotta stop TiVo-ing stuff, because it's wasting my time. I used to NEVER watch TV before. What happened to me?! And the scary thing is, I'm getting addicted to Idol. I've never seen any of the other seasons, but damn. I think the thing is, I don't watch TV until like 2 in the morning, when I have nothing else to do (except sleep, which I can't do). Before, there used to be nothing on at that time, so I didn't watch it. But now, I can record everything and catch up on it at night... it's turning my brain into mush.
