Zia -

Overall, a much better show than last week. And when I say much better - I didn't fall asleep this week.

Best three of the night:
Vonzell - I don't know if she'll win, but she's my favorite. She just keeps getting better.

Constantine - Although his constant preening and smoldering makes me want to pull out all my teeth one by one, he did a great job last night. Admittedly, his voice is very good when he picks the right songs.

Anwar - Best voice in the competition. Very pure. Becoming very one dimensional, though.

Worst Three:
Scott - Listening to him sing in the lower registers was excruciating.

Anthony - Judges praised him?? Huh?? I don't know dawg. You know. It wasn't even aight for me, man.

Nadia - She looks great - I like that her hair gets bigger and bigger each week. She's only an OK singer that needs to pick better songs.

Those are my bottom 3 with Scott leaving.

HOWEVER - I think the real bottom 3 will be Scott, Nadia and Anwar (w/ hopefully Scott leaving). Anwar may be in trouble because of the boring factor. Anthony has the teeny-bopper crowd.

Here's my theory on American Idol - you only need four things to be successful.

1) You have to be a really good singer. Duhhhh.
2) You have to be likable.
3) You have to be able to pick the right songs for your voice - a plus if you can sing fast-paced songs.
4) The audience must know the songs you choose.

That's it. If you got all four, you're set. Vonzell gets it. Constantine and Bo get it.

I don't think Nadia does though - that's why she hasn't been able to get that much of a following.

The remaining contestants lack in at least one of the four areas. Anwar is a little bit of 3 or 4. Scott is #2 definitely. Anthony is lacking in #1.
