You can leave it plugged in. Thanks Hey Oli how's it going? Did you have a good Christmas/New Year? TIS Indeed, I did. My wife and I drove out to AZ and returned Christmas eve. Beautiful out there. The only negative about New Year's Eve is that it signals that we are a year older. How about you?

I did thank you. Spent Christmas Eve/Christmas with my kids and grandkids. Didn't do anything New Year's Eve. You're right, another year older. Can't stop father time. LOL Can't we at least slow him down a little? I turned 60 in October, Tis. I was 47 when I joined this site! Happy New Year. All the best.

You can leave it plugged in. My Wife and I have one we leave on the end table where we watch TV and leave it plugged in all day. Good question TIS since we often wonder if it gets hot and should be disconnected. We typically unplug it if we know we are not going to be around or going to use it for awhile. When we go away for a few days I hit the power strips for every to off. Only thing I leave on is the fridge and the burner or Air.

I do the same. I unplug my computer, wifi, alarm clock, etc. when I'm out of town for long periods of time. Why have them running up your bill if you're not around? DP and Irishman, I learned the hard way to unplug hair blow dryers. One day my wife left it plugged in after using it and about 15 minutes later, I smelled smoke.I quickly ran to the bathroom and the dryer was on fire. I unplugged it and immediately put the small fire out with a wet towel. I was reimbursed by ConAir with 2 new blow dryers. Thank God we were home. I learned to always unplug the hair dryer. That could have been really bad.

Since we're talking about unplugging things for safety: We always shut the water off at the curb when we're going to be away for more than 24 hours. A frozen or leaking water pipe, or refrigerator cold water hose, or clothes dryer connection, can wreak incredible havoc on a home in a short time. We bought our home in AZ in 9/04. When we came out to it the first time three months later, we opened the front door and water poured out. Turned out that a cold spell had frozen a pipe to the hot water heater, resulting in 174,000 gallons of water into our home. Had to vacate it until the following March, when repairs were finished.

Jeez, guys! If we're going for potential disasters... My folks had a toaster oven, like many people do, and at the time I wasn't yet there every single day to prepare dinner like I am now. But this one day I'm there, and turn the toaster oven on to preheat, and some time later I come back to it and notice a flickering light coming from the exhaust fan (convection fan)... it wasn't a light, it was a flame! Not a flame inside the oven, but a flame inside the actual unit (between its walls) where only I would actually notice it! Of course, I'm just like, "WTF?" and blew it out. But if I wasn't there.......! Of course I notified the manufacturer and got it replaced... and have since replaced it with a different brand altogether -- but it amazes me how nonchalant some manufacturers can be when their shit has the potential to ruin lives!
I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! lol Whaddaya want me to do? Whack a guy? Off a guy? Whack off a guy? --Peter Griffin My DVDs | Facebook | Godfather Filming Locations

Very Cool. Kinda funny watching those camera angles being shot. I know. Crazy how they were able to attach and detach it and to keep it moving. A lot of planning went in to this movie visually and it showed and paid off in the end!

What do you call this motion that indicates you've gone crazy, perhaps from confinement and boredom? I'm speaking of the thing where someone sticks their index finger between their lips and moves it up and down rapidly to make a blub-blub-blub sound. It seems common in cartoons - how would you find that on YouTube? Don't know what it's called, but here's Youtube vid of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQH873Deey4Found it under funny lip sounds.

Anybody have an Apple Watch or a Fitbit? I'm looking into getting a watch simply to track my workouts. Since Series 4 of the Apple Watch is discontinued, I'm not ready to put down $400 on an Apple Watch for just exercise. I'll never use it to check or reply to text messages, use Apple Pay, etc. However, the Series 3 watch is around $200 and appears to offer more of what I'm looking for (also, would buy GPS model, not GPS + Cellular). So the price between a Fitbit Charger 4 and Apple Watch Series 3 is about $50. Also, the Fitbit has sleep tracking, which is a feature I'm curious about. Anybody have any feedback on either/both?

Hello everyone, I have a legal question for a friend that I cannot find an straight answer online. A couple have entered the US through lottery green card and now are permanent residents. After two years, husband wants to divorce her. They both are not US citizens yet. Will wife would be eligible for alimony if they separated? I want to add, they have been together for more than ten years prior to immigration.

Most if not all states have alimony related statutes that can significantly differ. Federal statutes may affect their immigration status and recognition of marriage. This needs a lawyer's attention.
Thanks Olivant, I'm pretty sure her green card stays as it is. It's that she will be left on her own, and I'm not sure how she will fair. They live in Maryland, and I checked, it's probably very hard for him to divorce her without grounds for divorce. I don't know. I'm just worried about her.
