Mob Convention in Cuba (by SC)
In 1946 on this day the Mob held a "convention" headed by "Lucky" Luciano at the Hotel Nacional in Havana, Cuba. Luciano, coming from Sicily after his exile from the U.S., was greeted by most of the major U.S. Family leaders.
It was rumored that Frank Sinatra (who visited) brought $2 million from the Chicago group paying homage to Luciano. It was decided at this "convention" that "Bugsy" Siegel would have to die for allegedly ripping off the Mob's money in their investments in the new hotel casino in Las Vegas. (Siegel was shot to death six months later).
