Yes, but it's closer this year than it was last year.
As I said earlier, by next year it's Reyes and Wright.
They're younger, and you just can't argue with time. I think Arod and Jeter would be a good pick for at least the next 3 years. ds Do you really think they're gonna be together that long ?

You can PM Geoff or SC and tell one of them that you made a mistake in posting this here and ask him to move it. It's almost a throwback to the battle of the shortstops between the Bklyn Dodger fans and the New York Yankee fans. Rizutto or Reese? Jeter is great. He's proven. I'm a die hard Mets fan and I love Reyes, but at the same time I'd take ten Jeters on my team. The guy comes to play everyday, and he has a great attitude. But in the log term, I'd have to go with youth and Reyes. Reyes is getting there, and like Wright, I believe that he is the real deal. As for Arod, well I think that he's wrong for the Yankees. He just doesn't fit. This is Jeter's town and I don't believe that Arod can deal with that. Arod's been around, and he's also proven. But I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that I think that when Wright reaches the point when has played as long as Arod has, he's going to be a much better, well rounded player. Don Cardi

Jeter is great. I'd take ten Jeters on my team. Me, too!! Me, too!! (sigh and swoon) Pizza, absolutely. Did you see the recent interview ARod gave? He wanted to get it out in the open that he and Jeter aren't best buds like they used to be, that their relationship has gotten cold.

He wanted to get it out in the open that he and Jeter aren't best buds like they used to be, that their relationship has gotten cold. The best evidence of the icy chasm that exists between Jeter and Rodriguez was the pop up last season that they botched. Neither looked at each other, or picked the ball up right away. You got the impression that if they even looked at each other, they wouldn't be able to hide their disgust. That said, while I dislike the Yankees more than the Mets, I would take Jeter and Rodriguez in a heart beat. They are proven and I would strongly suspect that they will have long careers, based on their conditioning regimen. They are both first ballot hall of famers. Reyes and Wright still have to prove that they could put up numbers and be productive for a stretch of years. While they certainly have potential, I'd be shocked if their careersapproach the careers of Jeter and Rodriguez, who's probably going to end up hitting over 700 homeruns.
